My friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When I asked her if she would watch the original trilogy with me she said that she would, but that she already knows what happens. So I took out my voice recorder and asked her to start from the top.

I then created some very basic animation in Final Cut to go along with her narration.

2. Budweiser — “Respect” (2002)
The Budweiser Clydesdales, easily the most recognizable icon in Super Bowl ads, walk across a snowy field and the Brooklyn Bridge before taking one knee in front of the New York skyline where the World Trade Center towers used to be. Budweiser followed this theme three years later with its “Heroes” ad, featuring people at an airport applauding returning soldiers.

Many people believe that what you do on New Year's Day sets the tone for your entire year. How did you spend the first day of 2009? Do you think it will influence the rest of the year?

* Left the M&M Spa New Year's Eve party shortly after midnight without bidding a goodnight to any of my friends or thanking my hosts. Used the rationalization of not wanting to break into any conversations. Self-esteem issues. Yeah, it's me. Go figure!
* Came home, let Whisky out for a relief break and went to bed. Don't remember if I logged onto Facebook or not before lights out.
* Got up 7:30 AM (6 hrs sleep!), did the old finger stick (slightly elevated), 'walked' and fed the dog, fed myself, watched TV until 9 AM, then went back to bed (thank the ghods for happy, sleepy dogs!).
* Woke up before noon, got dressed, let the dog out, then put his seatbelt harness on so we could go get something scrumptious for LeeLee to eat!
* It was colder than I don't know what but Whisky had a grand old time with his head hanging out the windows, scenting the air and loving the breeze.
* Chicken soup, sub and salad from Quizno's, then home again where I parked on the street.
* Received text message that Brian and Sheila were on their way back to Laurel.

* There's more but it's just the same as yesterday or tomorrow. The difference is no TV with Brian and Sheila being home.

* I hope to G-d not because I can't imagine not working for another year...

Prop 8—The Musical, a new music video satirizing Prop 8 — the California ballot proposition that amended the state Constitution to restrict the definition of marriage to a union between a man and a woman — is now available for on-line viewing.

Conceived and written by Hairspray Tony winner Marc Shaiman, the three-minute video was directed and staged by Adam Shankman, who helmed the "Hairspray" movie musical.

The video also boasts an array of theatre and stage stars: The "California Gays and The People That Love Them" are played by Jordan Ballard, Margaret Cho, Barrett Foa, J.B. Ghuman, John Hill, Andy Richter, Maya Rudolph, Rashad Naylor and Nicole Parker.

The "Proposition 8'ers and The People That Follow Them" include John C. Reilly as Prop 8 Leader; Allison Janney as Prop 8 Leader's #1 Wife; Kathy Najimy as Prop 8 Leader's #2 Wife; Jenifer Lewis as Riffing Prop 8'er; Craig Robinson as A Preacher; and Rashida Jones, Lake Bell and Sarah Chalke as Scary Catholic School Girls From Hell.

Jack Black plays Jesus Christ and Neil Patrick Harris is a Very Smart Fellow with Katharine "Kooks" Leonard, Seth Morris, Denise "Esi!" Piane, Lucian Piane, Richard Read, Seth Redford, Quinton Strack and Tate Taylor as The Frightened Villagers.

Shankman, Shaiman (who is featured on piano) and Mike Farah produced the video, which was edited by Bradly Schulz and Drew Antzis.
